JAY-HO BLUES BAND
A Seoul blues band fronted by guitarist–vocalist Jung Jaeho, who also plays guitar with Sinchon Blues and the band Sonyeon (少年). Their playing has taken them as far as B.B. King’s Blues Club on Beale Street in Memphis, and they appeared on the Buzzing Blues stage of the 2025 Seoul International Blues Festival. Live, they lean into the traditional blues idiom — slide guitar, the 461 Ocean Boulevard school, Motherless Children — played with the kind of restraint and feel that only comes from doing this music seriously, for years.

JOEY J. SAYE
A blues singer-songwriter and guitarist out of Aurora, Illinois — born to a Liberian family and raised on everything from West African music to American country. Self-taught on guitar (partly through on-demand video lessons), he stepped away to finish his economics degree at DePaul before returning to music in 2019 and quickly finding a home on the Chicago blues circuit, sharing stages with Willie Buck, Billy Flynn, Bob Stroger, Mary Lane, and Jimmie Vaughan. Three international tours and several US runs before turning thirty; recipient of the 2021 3Arts Make a Wave Award; profiled in Living Blues #276. His sets move freely between blues, soul, funk and singer-songwriter material, played on both acoustic and electric.
SUN 5/31
RICHIMAN & GROOVE NICE
A Korean blues trio led by guitarist–vocalist Richiman (Chai Isaac), with Baek Jin-hee on bass and Aiyo (Lee Eui-ho) on drums. Formed in 2018 as the Richiman Trio and rebuilt around a deeper groove-driven lineup, they became — in 2022 — the first Korean act ever to reach the Top 5 finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Since then they’ve toured the United States coast to coast, played the Hartford Blues Festival, joined Japan’s Sakai Blues Festival, and kept a packed home schedule across Seoul International Blues, Jeonju Ultimate Music and Jarasum Jazz. Their sets land on tight, vintage-toned grooves and a kind of explosive stage energy that doesn’t leave the room standing still.
