About SBDF
Our Story
The Beginning
Seoul Blues Dance Festival (SBDF) was born from a passionate community of blues dancers in Seoul, South Korea. What started as small social dances in local studios has grown into one of Asia’s premier blues dance events, attracting dancers from around the world.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to building and nurturing the blues dance community in Seoul and across Asia. Our festival brings together world-class instructors, musicians, and dancers to share the joy of blues dancing — from its deep roots in African American culture to its vibrant modern expressions.
Growing Together
Each year, SBDF has grown to offer more workshops, competitions, and social dancing opportunities. We believe in creating an inclusive space where dancers of all levels — from absolute beginners to seasoned competitors — can learn, connect, and celebrate blues dance together.
Looking Forward
SBDF 2026 marks another exciting chapter. With five internationally acclaimed instructors, live music performances, and four unique competition formats, we continue to push boundaries while honoring the traditions that make blues dancing so special.
